What do you think makes Gallagher special? How is it different than other camps?
The people!!! The people there just love you unconditionally. It’s like finding a big family that you do everything with for 9 days. It’s challenging, beautiful, and you learn things about yourself and others that you never thought you would. It’s home, but with sand and goofy staff that pour water on each other during the middle of dinner. The best way to spend your summer and a chunk of your life. True paradise <3
Was Camp Gallagher different than you expected?
Yeah. I thought there was going to be flushable toilets, doors, and windows. But, you soon realize that those aren’t necessities but luxuries. I thought everything would be super planned but it’s has a really good vibe and no one wears shoes. Also, peeing in the water is like a religion.

One of the best places on earth and my second home. It’s the outdoors and life with the most amazing campers and staff. It’s 9 days away from everything. It challenges you, but the person you become after is so amazing that it’s all worth it.
Tell us about one camp experience that sticks out as particularly memorable.
Sitting with my whole cabin and counselors after kayaking all day to the Rathke’s and sitting on their porch eating ice cream and cobbler while talking about Harry Potter. Also, laying down in the meadow of Hope Island at night and watching all the stars with my cabin and counselors that I love SO MUUUUUCCCCCCCHHHHHHHH.
